5 Ways To Come Back From Job Loss

Losing your job is never easy. It may have had everything to do with your performance, or nothing at all, either way it is still hard and a job loss can really knock your confidence! Stress, confusion and even depression can come with a job loss.

That’s why it’s important to look at a job loss in a positive light, it’s a setback sure but it’s not the end of the world! Measure your success by how you cope and bounce back from a job loss. KennedyPearce gives you 5 things to keep in mind to help you come back from a Job Loss.

1. Keep your eyes on the Future!

It’s easy to get consumed on the past and think about what could have/ should have happened if you had did this or didn’t do that. The thing is there’s no point looking back, what’s happened has happened and you need to keep looking to the future. Focus your efforts on what’s next, think about the future what you want and how you shape it.

2. Surround yourself with positive people

Surround yourself with people who can help you move past this and install positive emotions. A bit of solitude is wise to gather your thoughts, but too much time to yourself could lead you to get stuck in a rut. Make the effort to see friends and family who will give you support and help keep you hopeful and focused while you look for your next job.

3. Take care of you

Use your time to take care of yourself and your body. Be sure to get out there and exercise! Not only will this be a distraction it will make you feel better and more positive about yourself. Be sure to eat the right foods, fill your body with goodness – lots of vitamins and minerals so you are charged for the next chapter of your life.

4. Get to know you again

Sometimes a series of events leads us into careers we haven’t really chosen. So see this unexpected job loss as a chance to get to know you again, put things into perspective again and work out what you really want to do. Think about where your interests lie and how your life experience, work background and education can serve those interests.

5. Give your C.V a makeover

Chances are its been a while since you’ve updated your C.V and now you have more work experience, skills and qualifications to add. While you’re at it give yourself an online overhaul; get a new email address refresh your C.V as well as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn profiles. Give off the best representation off your professional self so you are ready for that job hunt!

Coping with job loss is difficult, but keep your chin up – remember you never know what’s around the corner! Use this change as a chance to improve your work life for the better!
