Our client, a Prestigious International Bank based in London are looking to recruit an Assistant IT Manager to join their expanding IT Department. The London Branch Information Technology (IT) Department includes business applications and infrastructure components such as routers, switches, and firewall. The incumbent will be responsible for working across a broad range of technologies and liaises across multiple departments of the business to support incidents, problems and requests. Responsible for on- desk support and also answering IT requests via phone, email and explaining solutions in technical and nontechnical terms.

Main responsibilities will include;

* Ensure effective day-to-day running and operations of Server, Branch Network, Branch workstations and Printers.
* Ensure continuous availability of all IT systems installed at London Branch.
* Accomplish financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analysing variances; initiating corrective action.
* Maintain awareness of H.O. IT projects and capabilities.
* Test maintain and update branch Disaster Recovery Plans.
* Provide the initial point of contact for all IT hardware and software suppliers of London based systems.
* Provide the first level of technical support for London branch staff, and call upon suppliers or Head Office support as necessary in accordance with defined procedures.
* Provide assistance to generate ‘ad-hoc’ reports from cognos as and when required.
* Co-ordinate with Head Office regarding OS upgrade and new infrastructure systems implementation.
* Provide assistance and get involved in new business system implementation during requirement gathering, testing and rollout.
* Ensure adequacy and security of backup data and software for IT systems installed at London Branch.
* Provide technical assistance/BCP consultancy during annual testing/invocation.
* Telephone systems – responsibility for the maintenance of the Avaya telephone systems and mobile phones and recording systems in coordination with local vendor/Group IT in H.O.
* Backup Desktop support engineer during his absence/leave. Build and install PCs, telephone systems, wireless networks and peripheral devices (such as printers, scanners, and mobile/smart phones) related to desktop infrastructure.

To be considered for this position, ideal candidates must meet the following criteria;

* Four-year university degree or college diploma required in the field of Computer Science.
* 7+ years of relevant work/management experience
* Prince 2 or PMP certification.
* Cisco Certified Network Expert, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer or have related certifications.
* Excellent knowledge of current protocols and standards, including Active Directory, Group Policies, MS Exchange, Core Switching/Routing, SSL/IPSec, SAN, Virtualization, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery.
* Conversant with programming languages such as .Net, Java.
* Experience in interpreting the applicability of local and federal laws/regulations
* Hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware such as servers, routers, bridges, switches, hubs, modems, network interface cards, and so on.
* Knowledge and understanding of system flow charts, data processing concepts, and telecommunications principles.
