HR Business Partner

My client is looking for an HR Business Partner to support their Operations and Engineering lines of business.
The role will work with line managers to reduce sickness absence and ensure the managing for attendance procedure is correctly adhered to. You will provide accurate guidance within terms and conditions, employment law and the HR Processes and Procedures to line manages on disciplines and grievances. You will have active input into delivery of the people strategy through employee engagement and health and well-being initiative. It is also key to deliver training to line managers and employees within areas of responsibility.
Key accountabilities:

* Identifying ways to reduce sickness absence in the business though close case management with line managers and occupational health providers in order to achieve the annual sickness target
* Providing guidance to Managers on the application of the Managing for Attendance Procedure
* Accurate reporting of sickness absence and Non Train Working to the business including into the 4 weekly Board report
* Provide advice and guidance to line managers on disciplines and grievances ensuring that HR policies and procedures and employment law are adhered to
* Provide advice to line managers on all matters referring to terms and conditions and contracts of employment
* Identifying training needs through the performance development process, feedback from line managers and the business committed obligations
* Review family friendly applications
* Carry out regular reviews
* Assist line managers with re-organisations and ensure correct processes are carried out
* Support line managers in company council activities
* Delivering the people strategy
* Ad-hoc duties as required

Experience:

* CIPD qualification desirable
* Ability to influence and persuade individuals at all levels
* Knowledge of managing for attendance procedure
* Excellent communication skills
* Knowledge or experience of the rail industry is desirable
* Experience of working with trade unions is essential
