IT/Operations Support

Our client, a City based international bank are looking to recruit an IT/Operations Support Officer, paying £35-45k, based up on experience.

Objective

To carry out daily operation of AS/400, SWIFT, and other IT & telecommunications work.

Accountability
To work effectively and independently with reasonable supervision from EDP Manager. To assist EDP Manager providing operational and technical support to all users in the usage of Branch’s IT & telecommunication systems in conjunction with the bank’s Head Office and Overseas Support Centre, which is based in another country.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
1.AS/400 and EximBills

* Liaise with the bank’s Overseas Support Centre to ensure the proper start up and end of day processing of both AS400 and EximBills systems.
* Distribute AS/400 reports to users.
* Sort out input records for filing.
* Assist EDP Manager on users’ requests for assistance.

2.SWIFT

* Check all SWIFT forms submitted by originating sections to ensure that they have been properly authorised before transmitting them into the SWIFT network.
* Check to make sure that rejected messages (NAK) are promptly delivered to the originating sections so that any corrective action can be made in time.
* Check to ensure that invalid messages e.g. incorrect SWIFT key etc. have been notified to EDP Manager for subsequent investigation.
* Provide SWIFT confirmations of outgoing messages to originating sections.
* Distribute all incoming messages to relevant sections or departments.
* Record incoming SWIFT messages in registered books.

3.Assist EDP Manager on the following:

* Branch’s Internet operations, telephone / photocopier / scanning systems.
* Dealing room’s support for Reuters, Bloomberg, etc.
* Disaster Recovery testing, network communications implementation & testing, IT & SWIFT upgrades.
* Voice recorder operations.
* CCTV support
