Management Accountant

My client, an up and coming property company are looking for a qualified Management Accountant to join their team.

As the Management Accountant you will be reporting to the Head of Finance and your team will be responsible for all aspects of producing the monthly Management Accounts for the 30+ companies within my clients group.

Key areas of focus – Management Accountant

* Prepare monthly financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries
* Prepare and post monthly journals across all entities
* Manage monthly accruals and prepayments
* Prepare monthly Bank reconciliations for all bank accounts
* Prepare monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations for all accounts
* Liaise with tax advisors on preparation of monthly VAT returns
* Analyse financial performance by comparing current performance with budget and with prior periods
* Offer professional judgement on financial matters and advise on ways of improving business performance
* Interpret and communicate financial data to non-financial managers
* Monitor and evaluate financial information systems and suggest improvements where needed
* Implement corporate governance procedures, risk management and internal controls and suggest enhancements to same
* Other ad hoc tasks

Required Skills & Experience

This is a role that requires proven expertise, gained from experience:

* Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent
* Strong systems skills and comfort with IT system based processes
* Strong communication skills with the ability to work with colleagues at all levels including non-finance members of staff
* Organisational skills with the ability to work independently, under pressure and to deadlines
* Strong Excel skills
* Experience of Qube accounting packages an advantage
