Portfolio & Risk Reporting Associate

Our client, a prestigious Investment Trust based in the West End are looking for a Portfolio & Risk Reporting Associate to join their expanding company. The Company’s portfolio has recently increased in complexity and as a result a Portfolio & Risk Reporting Associate role, reporting into the Head of Portfolio & Risk Reporting and working closely with both the Chief Investment Officer and Chief Financial Officer, has arisen.

The role incorporates;

* Timely reporting and analysis of investment and risk exposures to enhance the decision-making process for the CIO and the wider investment team;
* Assist in the development and enhancement of the risk reporting function across all areas of investment risk including market, liquidity and counterparty risk;
* Deputise as necessary for the Head of Portfolio & Risk Reporting.

Main responsibilities;

* Daily monitoring and reporting of portfolio exposures across all asset classes including equities, commodities, interest rates / fixed income and foreign exchange;
* Verification of OTC derivatives prices;
* Performing regular performance/contribution/attribution analysis;
* Monitoring of investment risk limits;
* Support the production of regulatory risk reports;
* Contribute to developing, enhancing and documenting methodologies and processes to quantify and monitor investment risks;
* Bespoke analysis as required for the CFO/CIO.

To be considered for this position, ideal candidates must have the following skills/attributes;

* Investment literate and experience with financial derivatives
* Excellent communication skills
* Strong Excel skills
* Ability to solve problems and work independently
* Proactive and well organised with a continuous improvement mindset
* Accurate with excellent attention to detail

A candidate with a very strong academic track record, preferably in a quantitative discipline, and having gained some exposure to investments is ideally what our client is looking for. The role will involve working closely with the CIO and CFO therefore strong communication skills are critical, as is the ability to build relationships across the wider Group.
