Service Charge Manager

KennedyPearce are recruiting a Service/ Rental Charge manager for a nationally recognized housing organisation based in the City of London.

With a restructure within the service charge and collections team the business are looking to bring on board, experience service/ rental charge professionals with management experience who can lead a newly formed team and grow within the business. This role will report directly into head of finance and look to manage a team of around 10-15 people.

The role will be repsonsible for the following:

* Develop and manage relationships with key business partners. Working collaboratively to find solutions which embed a culture of continuous improvement and enhance service delivery

* Establish and manage relationships with external organisations who act on our behalf carrying out functions such as secure rent valuation to ensure maximum efficiency and recovery of costs achieved

* Responsible for identifying and interpreting new legislation and regulations that affect own area of business. Advising appropriate areas of the business on the resulting impact to ensure compliance and service excellence is maintained

* Maintain Group policies and procedures on rent setting. Ensuring that changes are reflected and communicated promptly

* Participate in short and long term cross team projects that support continuous improvement. Support activity by influencing the group and suggesting improvements to ensure an outcome which enhances business performance

* Manage the team’s participation in internal and external audits. Working with auditors to provide required information and seek out opportunities for process improvements during annual and procedural audits

* Manage Rent Team staff through one to one process and personal development reviews. Setting objectives, coaching and supporting development, measuring progress, motivating and addressing performance issues to ensure potential is maximised

* Provide technical expertise and guidance to business partners on rent setting to provide excellent service to customers and the Group

* Manage the preparation, calculation, processing and communication of rent reviews. Develop and support improvements to processes and service delivery

* Manage the preparation, processing and communication of quarterly or 6 monthly rent statements, supporting the requirements of the business with an element of flexibility on issue

* Manage the publication of re-let rent for all Group properties to ensure correct charges used and income maximised

* Anticipate and manage the changing needs of the business communicating this to the Rent Team assessing the impact on work and business processes

* Thorough knowledge of the business strategy, corporate plan and participation in planning activity around changes to the business structure and approach.

The canidates will have:

* Experience of managing staff working in an environment requiring attention to detail and high accuracy levels.

Experience of working in a finance team and establishing procedures to support company policy and legislative compliance

* Experience of preparing and analysing financial information.

* Good understanding of integrated computerised accounting systems

This role is paying up to £45,000 pa with bonus and benefits.
