Job description

Our client is looking for a vibrant and fun accounts payable assistant to join their team! They are are a work hard, play hard team who wants somebody who will fit their culture.

What you will be doing?

Joining the finance team your responsibilities will include;

  • Sort, code and match invoices
  • Review, validate and process invoices
  • Prepare weekly payment schedule forecast to Financial Controller for approval
  • Process local creditor payments weekly
  • Preparing payment runs (local and international)
  • Process foreign currency overseas supplier payments weekly
  • Provide weekly summary of payments made weekly - organised by entity and currency
  • Monitor forward contract balances
  • Ensure the integrity of the accounts payable including preventing duplicate/over payment
  • Investigate and resolve accounts payable enquiries
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions to supplier statements
  • Assist in month end duties
  • Processing and reconciling Corporate Credit Cards for employees and staff expense reimbursements
  • Process internal expense claims
  • Maintain and enhance strong relationships with suppliers
  • Ensure no variances in end of month trade creditors balance
  • Other ad-hoc duties as required

Who is the ideal candidate?

  • Minimum 1+ years payable experience
  • Ideally no more than 3 years experience as they would like to mould the candidate to their working style
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Well organised with an understanding of accounting and the reconciliation process
  • Has understanding of cashflow and making payments in a timely manner
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
  • Experience with international payments is an advantage but not essential
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to manage a diverse range of duties
  • Great relationship management skills
  • Experience within a similar role
  • Excellent communication skills both on the phone and in person
  • Very savvy problem solver with an ability to work your way through new processes
