Job description

I am working with a leading aviation company who are looking for a part qualified Accounts Receivable to join their Finance team in the City. You will be responsible for completing billing and credit control tasks. This is a great opportunity to grow your knowledge and to develop within the team whilst studying for an accountancy qualification.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Working with other departments to review and approve any unusual invoices before sending out to customers;
  • Reviewing activity on a daily basis, checking that all details are correct and working with their Operations team to ensure accuracy of coding, cost and sales values
  • Ensuring that all customer balances for cash and hours flown are maintained and accurate, incorporating cash receipts and invoices
  • Responding to customer queries regarding invoices and working with Sales to resolve issues as required;
  • Reporting differences between estimated and actual billing;
  • Agree payment and repayment plans with customers that are in default of payment terms initiating legal proceedings if necessary;
  • Responsible for ensuring that all funds are collected, accounts reconciled, and queries resolved for top level client accounts;
  • Investigate, manage and resolve all disputes quickly and efficiently in order to collect funds;
  • Ensure that customers pay amounts owed to the company by the due date using a variety of payment methods;
  • Prepare periodic and ad-hoc reporting for management at month end and as requested;
  • Ad hoc duties as required.

Essential Requirements:

  • 3+ years' experience gained in a similar accounting role;
  • Part qualified ACCA/CIMA
  • Degree Educated (2:1 or above)
  • SAP experience is essential
  • Excel savvy
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure;
  • Strong negotiation skills
