Job description

Prestigious International Bank based in the West End of London are looking to recruit an Assistant Manager within their Investment Operations/Business Support team which is part of their expanding Operations Department.

This team provides the Middle and Back office functions for the Branch with a varied list of tasks. These include ATM management, managing the Cash provision for the Branch including Teller services, Remittance processing including EUR and GBP clearing (inward and outward) for Head Office based overseas, Treasury Operations, Investment Operations, Investigations, Static Data, Debit Card management, Cheques, Image clearing and other back office functions as required. A full counter service is provided by the Branch with a payments sections working alongside an outsourced service provider and support for the Private Banking Investment Operations from London.

The incumbent will also be responsible for supporting the Private Banking Investment Operations with a focus on ensuring Operational compliance with the CASS rules.

Main responsibilities will include;

  • Portfolio Establishment and all maintenance thereafter
  • Security set up
  • Security Valuation including valuation of all London held securities
  • Rebate receipts and processing
  • Trade allocations
  • Market Settlements
  • Contract Notes
  • Client reporting
  • Asset servicing (all applicable corporate actions)
  • Custody (and potentially Client money) reconciliations
  • MI preparation including CMAR preparation and validation
  • Pricing checks and monitoring
  • Regulatory transaction reporting requirements - MiFID
  • Able to take the lead on testing on both upgrades and implementations to Advent, Moxy and other support systems.
  • Support for the Assistant Manager, Operations will encompass liaising with other departments of the business to support incident resolution, problem solving and other ad hoc requests.
  • Payment verification will also be required.

To be considered for this position, ideal candidates must have the following experience & skills;

  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in Investment Operations is essential
    Good understanding of front to back operational processes and regulatory requirements around performing these tasks (COBS, COLL, SYSC and CASS).
  • Up to date knowledge and understanding of the FCA CASS rules relating to operational processes.
  • Sound knowledge of Transaction reporting and reconciliations
  • Sound knowledge of Corporate action life cycle
  • Further experience in Banking Operations would be preferable
  • Good supervisory skills gained through previous experience
  • Self-motivated and able to lead and motivate others
  • A task orientated individual who thrives under pressure
  • Pro-active person who can contribute, recommend and implement improvements
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical and quantitative skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Should have a positive "can do" attitude combined with a flexible approach to all tasks
  • Accurate organized individual, flexible and happy to undertake any task in support of the Operations team and the wider bank.
