Project Cost Control Analyst

Our Client
Our client is a market leader in the logistics industry and are looking to add a quick thinking and adaptable project cost analyst to their quickly growing team.

We are seeking a Cost Analyst to join our clients finance team based in central London. The cost analyst is responsible for supporting the Cost Controller in the project financial administration tasks, including debtor and creditor information collation, base level financial tasks and office administration tasks. The role will support the reporting of the financial position of the business unit and the management of overhead cost, along with auditing and reviewing the financial position of the projects. Attention to detail and ability to analyse and interpret project financial information is crucial to the successful performance of this role.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Processing of account debtors and assist Project Managers to reconcile project budgets
  • Setting up new Project codes in Group Accounting System
  • Reconciliation of corporate credit cards and expenses
  • Support the compilation of financial budgets and forecasts for the business unit
  • Support the management team and cost controller in the management of overhead costs
  • Producing Outlook / Forecasts for each project and feeding into relevant Business Partner for inclusion in Outlook / Budgets
  • Support in financial audits on the projects with a focus on cost and revenue forecasts
  • Identify and assist with the resolution of project related account issues
  • Office administration tasks as identified to support the functioning of the Engineering office
  • Develop, manage and audit the business unit Expenditure Authorisation Matrix in cooperation with the Cost Controller
  • Ensuring costs are appropriately coded and captured and treated in line with agreed Corporate / US GAAP Policy
  • Providing Project Cost Reports to relevant Project Manager's
  • 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

ABOUT YOU

  • Attacks goals and objectives with drive, energy and enthusiasm

  • Exposure to site based cost engineering: dealing with margins, profits and contractor management would be advantageous;
  • The ability to forecast, interpret financial statements, ability to assess financial health, accuracy, risk identification, methodical, identify trends would be valuable;
  • High level of attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate flexibility as you adapt to changing deadlines and business demands.
