Job description

Our client, a prestigious International Bank are looking to recruit a Credit Analyst to join their UK Risk Department. You will be responsible for assisting the Real Estate/Personal Banking and Corporate Investment Banking business teams with the on-going provision of credit requests on the bank's existing client base as well as any new clients. Specifically by way of collating all relevant information and assisting in the timely preparation of credit submission requests as per latest approved relevant policies and procedures.

Main responsibilities will include;

  • Active involvement in credit requests and support prudent credit decisions in line with approved policies and in adherence to relevant UK regulations
  • Understand the Bank's relevant products and applicable credit policies, process(es) and delegated authorities
  • Responsible for producing complete (including satisfactory static data quality, preparation of cash flows where need be) and timely Credit Application packs as per the bank's policies, including compilation, review and circulation of all necessary supporting documents, checking compliance with internal and/or external sanction conditions (such as approval conditions, timely covenant monitoring, etc.)
  • Appraise, analyse, closely review and comment on all information received from client and Business Unit including but not limited to financial statements, management accounts, market / client research / valuation reports, facility documentation, due diligence report, market & client's latest developments
  • Recommend appropriate internal risk rating for clients post having updated all relevant client's qualitative and quantitative inputs into internal risk rating tool
  • Contact Relationship Managers and/or overseas Credit (where applicable) to request the relevant updated information
  • Assist with preparation and/or maintenance of internal reporting and/or monitoring reports as required
  • Attend client meetings/calls and site visits to discuss and formulate client facility applications
  • Maintain up-to-date credit files
  • Establish strong working relationships and effective communication with key stakeholders, including but not limited to Head of Credit Risk-UK, London Risk and other Credit teams, Product Team / Relationship Managers, sourcing channels, Credit Administration Department, Internal Audit and Group Head Office
  • To assist in the preparation and have active participation to the London Branch Risk Committee
  • Checking obligor's static credit data validity in Credit Administration System (local credit database),the core banking system - Intellect and the Global Markets trading system
  • Perform ad-hoc duties as and when assigned and/or supported by the Manager

To be considered for this position, ideal candidates must meet the following criteria;

  • Bachelor's degree level in accountancy/ commerce/ economics preferred
  • Desirable: Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or relevant discipline
  • Strong corporate (and ideally Financial Institution) credit, analytical, communication, interpersonal and presentational skills
  • An open minded approach, willingness to learn on the job new credit skills
