Job description

International Private Bank based in the West End of London, are looking to recruit an additional Credit Officer to join the bank on a 6 month contract. The Credit Officer has responsibility for structuring and tailoring complex lending solutions for High Net Worth Private and Institutional Clients. They will also assist with the preparation, implementation, monitoring and control of the London Branch Credit Facility Portfolio, including regulated mortgages.

Main responsibilities of the Credit Officer will include;

  • Undertake a comprehensive credit risk assessment and analysis of Mortgages and Lombard's ensuring that the information provided is validated and robust, that adhere to credit policy and business appetite is complied with.
  • Provide support to the London Credit Manager in execution of credits and regulated mortgages.
  • Provide tailored lending solutions across a range of client entities for Board and Credit consideration whilst managing expectations of clients, colleagues, and management
  • Assess and record annual reviews, increases and/or amendments to existing loan facilities ensuring we are adhering to necessary Credit Stewardship measures set by the Bank
  • Undertake and record regulatory calls with clients for MCOB regulated mortgage proposals ensuring all necessary disclosures are met to comply with FCA standards
  • Take responsibility for the preparation of loan and mortgage agreements through to implementation of the facility.
  • Negotiation of Credit Real Estate Valuation, Security Documentation with Legal and external law firms and Bank panel valuers
  • Support Relationship Managers for lending proposals by being point of contact for any questions and/or queries
  • Acting as "first line of defence" to mitigate credit risk for the bank and to ensure we lend responsibly to our clients.
  • Consistent and accurate capturing of client information at all touch points to ensure a complete and accurate lending file.
  • To ensure that compliance, audit, and guidelines under FCA/PRA rules are met within the business.
  • Adhoc duties as required from time to time to support the Credit Administration

To be considered for this position, ideal candidates must have the following experience, skills and qualification;

  • Strong finance experience both with Lombard and Mortgage lending ideally gained from working with High-Net-Worth Private & Institutional Clients
  • Knowledge of the end to end implementation of both mortgages and Lombard's to include Credit administration/ Loan administration/ Loan documentation and security perfection
  • Experience of writing informed and balanced credit risk assessments for transactions to be submitted to the Board and Credit committee whilst meeting affordability and FCA guidelines
  • CeMap qualified
