JOB TITLE: Finance Business Partner

REPORTING TO: Senior Finance Business Partner

DEPARTMENT: Finance & Procurement

LOCATION: London

Purpose

To undertake a project business partnering role, developing good working relationships with, and proactively supporting and advising, Senior Management, Heads of Departments and their reports, providing the support, critique and analysis necessary to allow budget holders to manage their areas of the business and take full accountability for its performance.

Responsbilities

  • To ensure that Directors and budget holders are provided with the financial and non-financial information, interpretation and analysis
  • Contribute to the delivery of the monthly finance packs, providing variance analysis, project updates and other narrative
  • Contribute towards the annual budget process and in-year forecasting
  • Analyse results and variances and critically review out-turn forecasts
  • Ensure budget-holders delivering complex, multi-year projects are supported in their monitoring and understanding of project budgets
  • Maintain and improve budgetary and progress reports
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and other one-off reports
  • Deal with requests around NAV access rights provided to the business, ensuring they are appropriate and kept up-to-date for leavers, joiners etc
  • Contribute towards the creation and maintenance of a long-term financial model that can be used to identify issues well in advance and identify mitigating actions
  • Work with Reporting Accountant to deal with discrepancies in the month end pack
  • Ad-hoc project work

Requirements

  • Degree level educated with 2:1 or above from a reputable univeristy
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA part qualified or qualified accountant
  • 3-4 years solid commercial accounting experience
  • Experience of working with budget holders to enable them to deliver good quality budgets and forecasts
  • Effective interpersonal and influencing skills, capable of effective negotiating and of building good working relationships with a number of external stakeholders
  • Self-motivated and responsible
  • Pro-active and flexible approach to seeking solutions to problems
  • Hands-on experience of using accounting software, combined with strong Excel and Word skills

Salary, up to £40000 dependant on experience
