Job description

Company: Recently acquired Football agency which is part of a global Sports and Media agency.

Work location: Soho and Hammersmith with Hybrid working

Requirements: Qualified accountant, Immediately available with a background in sports (ideally Football) although we would consider a media agency candidate who is passionate about Football

RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Ownership of the division's general ledger and monthly close process, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end close procedures.
  • Maintain all financial schedules, ledgers, and balance sheet reconciliations in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare monthly management reporting packages for submission to Finance Director, UK & Germany, adhering to month end deadlines.

  • Provide mentoring, coaching and supervision to the Base accounting team (Accountant and Accounts Assistant) and support with any day-to-day needs.
  • Review of aged debtors/creditors reports and monthly update presenting to Finance Director.
  • Oversee the end-to-end revenue process from the signing of a deal to invoicing and collecting commissions, working with agents and operations managers to ensure all new deals are correctly documented and invoiced accordingly.
  • Review of new deal contracts and application of revenue recognition policy.
  • Ensure that all consultant retainers and T&E expenses are aligned to contracts and company policy.
  • Assist with year-end group audit, and lead on local UK statutory audits.
  • Implement and maintain strong financial controls and escalate issues appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Identify potential process efficiencies & contribute towards a high standard, continuous improvement culture. Financial planning and analysis (FP&A) responsibilities:
  • Present the monthly financial results to Finance Director and business leaders, providing a clear and concise analysis of performance against budget and forecast across all areas of the P&L.
  • Preparation and submission of the division's Annual Operating Plan (yearly budget) and mid-year reforecast, working with the Finance Director and the business leaders.
  • Maintain cash flow projections.
  • Maintain the deal database with rolling revenue projections on all contracted income.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching and supervision to the UK Sports FP&A Analyst.
  • Ad-hoc support to the business leaders and Agents by providing financial information, where required to assist them with deal negotiations and fee structuring.
  • Ad-hoc reporting, analysis & projects as required by Finance Director, UK & Germany.
