Job description

We are looking for a 'hands on' leader with experience in a similar role, preferably in the retail/publishing industry. You will have a proven track record of providing timely and accurate financial services, strategic support to the organisation, leadership of the support function and implementing and managing systems and process to ensure the smooth running of the organisation

This position requires a highly motivated, dynamic and confident individual who has the ability and acumen to communicate across all levels of the business. Innovation, diligence and effective communication are imperative requirements to identify and resolve issues, with a continuous drive for performance improvement.

What you will be doing?

This is a diverse role that will have you working closely with the Central Finance team, providing support to all central departments including General and Admin, Finance, Systems, HR.

About You

To be considered for this vacancy you will be customer-focused and be able to build positive working relationships with all key stakeholders. You will also possess the following:

  • Experience in fast-paced, high growth business setting
  • Experience working with Boards, managing cash flow, bank relationships
  • Reviewing the monthly balance sheets, cashflows and bank reconciliations
  • Previous experience bringing a group approach to a growing portfolio of businesses
  • Proven experience of managing a team
  • Ideally from a retail/publishing sector
  • Liaison with Head Office Finance team and UK Heads of Department of central teams
  • Preparing UK statutory accounts and able to sign them off
  • Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and then execute them in a sustainable way
  • Ability to effectively communicate across a numbers of levels and functions across the business
  • Knowledge and experience with Inventory Planning
  • ACCA/ACA qualification required
