Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a Technology based in City of London. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Financial Controller (FC) will have the ability to work at both the strategic and operational levels. The FC role is supported by an experienced Finance Manager and a team of five staff. We are looking for someone who preferably comes from a Technology/IT services background in order to hit the ground running in this role. The role would suit a candidate who has strong experience in this sector with strong commercial acumen.

To be successful in this role you will be an experienced Financial Controller coupled with strong leadership skills, and not afraid to be 'hands on'. This is an incredible opportunity to make the role your own, building on and enhancing existing processes, and partnering with the functional management team and the CEO to implement the strategic vision for.

The mandate for this role is (but not limited to):

  • Lead the Finance Manager and team to streamline business processes, reduce the month end close cycle and produce meaningful and timely management reporting including P&L, Cashflow Statements, Balance Sheet and KPI's
  • Ability to interrupt the financial results and make recommendations for improvements, including Board presentations
  • Responsible for Accounting Policies and Procedures
  • Manage relationships with Auditors, Bankers, Advisors, Stakeholders, Customers and Suppliers
  • Ensure integrity of all systems including general ledger, sub ledgers and payroll
  • Responsible for annual operating and capital budgets, and dynamic profit and loss forecasts including activity driven forecasts
  • Manage cashflow forecast
  • Identify and managing risks

The ideal candidate will require the following skills & experience:

  • ACCA / CIMA qualified
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team
  • Strong accounting technical skills and broad commercial experience
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills
  • Capability to work with other functions to understand, recommend and implement business change
  • SME experience
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Experience with best practice financial systems and processes
