Job description

My client a Global Leading Media business based in West London is looking for a Financial Controller to join their head office team.


Reporting to the Finance Director the Financial Controller will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring timeliness and reliability of financial records, including general ledger, financial statements, regulatory and management reports for Europe
  • Reviewing P&L, cashflow, balance sheet and supplementary submissions (eg DSO reporting, Foreign Exchange analysis)
  • Overseeing quarterly reporting group
  • Ensuring consistency and integrity between P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow
  • Making a proactive contribution to progressively improve reporting speed and quality to all stakeholders
  • Ensuring accurate reporting in compliance with Group policies, local and US GAAP
  • Liaising with the Europe & Africa Reporting & Planning, and local finance teams across the region to coordinate monthly closing activities
  • Supporting local Europe & Africa finance teams with annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting
  • Co-ordinating with Europe & Africa advertising sales team to accurately report global and pan-regional revenues
  • Reviewing and signing off of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and SOX files
  • Complying with statutory and legal requirements: audit, tax, VAT and regulatory filings or information requests
  • Ensuring that procedures and controls are followed and maintained within finance and across the organisation, including SOX requirements
  • Promoting a robust control environment within the Europe & Africa Reporting and Accounting Team
  • Supporting VP, Planning & Reporting with supplementary analysis and ad hoc requests from Europe & Africa regional management and local finance teams

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a Qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) Accountant with at least 5 years post qualification experience
  • Have proven experience in liaising with key stakeholders, directors, across geographical locations
  • Have proven financial reporting experience
  • Have proven managerial experience
