FP&A Management Accountant - Banking

A leading bank in the city are looking to hire a Management Accountant to join their team. They offer an exciting position with the opportunity to learn and progress within the company.

The Management Accountant will be responsible in assisting of the production of management accounts, budgets and forecasts plus any other ad hoc requests from the Financial Control manager, the Financial Controller and the CFO.

The CFO has specified that the candidate comes with strong academics at degree level, and hold some budgeting and forecasting experience with a Financial Services background.

Key Responsibilities -

  • Forecasting -mid month, month end, and yearly forecast
  • Budgeting- assist with the completion of the annual budget
  • Assistance in the preparation of the management accounts including international banking group assistance
  • Daily PL production and variance analysis
  • Senior Management MIS
  • Regular Costs and Accrual review
  • Assistance with the Group Financial Reporting pack as required
  • Analysis of key expense headings to support MI and for tax computation purposes
  • Preparation of the daily balance sheet
  • Data enrichment reporting
  • Project assistance: e.g. ODS usage, New cost center, Variable interest rate, C1 codes, CRE separation
  • Other Ad hoc tasks as requested by the manager of FCD, the FC and the CFO

Other Duties -

  • To acquire and maintain a good working knowledge of the Bank's procedure manual's
  • To adhere to all relevant regulatory requirements and restrictions
  • To complete actions set by compliance within specified deadlines
  • Aiding financial analysis to feed into decision support projects
  • Ad hoc project work

Skills required -

  • A qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or at finalist level
  • Educated to degree level achieving 2:1 or above
  • Strong A level and GCSE's
  • FP&A experience - essential
  • Previous management accounting experience in financial services - essential
  • Excellent system skills
  • Background in Banking highly advantageous
  • Sociable personality - outgoing, confident communicator
  • Self-motivated and ambitious - driven by a career in Accounting
  • Flexibility in approach to managing own work load
