Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an exceptional Graduate looking for their first step into finance.

The role sits within a prestigious mid size investment bank and will be working within the Product Control team. The team is responsible for ensuring that trades/products are correctly understood across the bank and are valued correctly in the appropriate systems. The role will provide support to front office, including administering certain front office systems.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for conducting both IPV & Product Management processes
  • Conduct an independent review of the valuation of the bank's trading positions
  • Independent Price Valuation
  • Control and manage the timely production of IPV reports covering all positions in the Bank
  • Perform the liaison between the relevant Risk managers and Front Office staff
  • System analysis to ensure that the booking of the trades in the relevant systems enables the appropriate reporting of the economics & risks of these trades
  • Review of valuation of products
  • Liaison with audit functions, (internal & external) and regulators
  • Ensure procedures and methodologies are fully documented and meet SOX standards
  • Assist in Product Management tasks when required
  • Ad hoc projects with regard to system implementation

Requirements

  • Degree level educated from a top tier University (2:1 or above)
  • Accounting and Finance degree required
  • A level educated (A*-C)
  • Professional qualififcation support offered (CFA/ACCA/CIMA etc)
  • An interest in starting a career within finance
  • Enthusiastic and proactive
  • Strong sense of accountability
  • Good knowledge of accounting fundamentals
  • Highly proficient with Excel (pivots, lookups, sumifs)
