City based International Bank are looking to recruit a Head of IT Services. The role is a Head of Department role and would report to the General Manager Operations. It is possible that this role could at some stage share a split of SMF 24 if the need arises. Main responsibilities will include;

  • Responsibility for the banks IT strategy and performance, ensuring availability of the banks IT systems, information and communication systems
  • Responsibility for Project Governance across all the banks projects and project management of assigned projects
  • Maintain the bank's core banking and satellite systems, as well as the systems infrastructure, ensuring availability and relevance
  • Main data integrity and availability for BAU and disaster recovery/business continuity scenario
  • Provide excellent support levels to the banks staff and external customers
  • Ensure a secure and sustainable control environment with fully embedded controls in line with those outlined in policy and procedures
  • Work with the IT Security Manager to ensure the banks systems are protected as best as possible from external attacks, ensure the banks logging and reporting systems are monitored, ensure the banks staff are educated to understand the threats applicable to the bank
  • Accountability at a senior level for projects, co-ordinating, steering and decision making to ensure a successful outcome
  • Responsible for project managing, resource allocation and budget approval for projects across the bank
  • Ensure timely production of the banks MI

Ideal candidates should have the following system skills/experience;

  • Experience of networks - at least CCNA (a Cisco Certified Network Associate);
  • Experience of Checkpoint firewalls - preferably Checkpoint certified administrator;
  • Citrix experience;
  • Core banking systems ideally T24.
