Senior HR Business Partner - Global Technology & Operations - West London


As the HR BP to the Global Technology & Operations business, the successful candidate will be required to:

  • Act as trusted advisor to the senior executives and their senior leadership teams to develop robust people plans in line with the business strategy and deliver against these plans
  • Act as coach and mentor to the leadership team and their managers
  • Enable the business to achieve their business goals with respect to the HR-life cycles
  • Develop pragmatic and robust solutions to HR issues in conjunction with the business, HR Team, and HR Specialists
  • Proactively handle day-to-day HR transactional activities but also contribute at the strategic level and be willing to question and challenge
  • Provide guidance and coaching to the HR Advisor


HR Strategy & Operations

  • Act as advisor and facilitator to the business in key areas such as organisational design, change processes and internal communication
  • Develop, communicate and execute HR plans across the business
  • Establish effective meetings, methods of communications and feedback mechanisms across the client group
  • Act as a sounding board and coach to business managers; provide them with exceptional HR support, advice, guidance, and tools to proactively manage their teams effectively and take ownership of performance management issues
  • Ensure line managers and their teams understand the role of HR versus the role of line manager
  • Advise on all employee relations issues in line with policies and procedures ensuring best practice and legal compliance is followed. Partner with internal and external legal counsel when required


Learning and Development

  • Promote and support the Performance Management process providing training solutions and partnering with central Learning & Development function as necessary
  • Identify Learning & Development needs across the designated client group and propose appropriate solutions
  • Contribute to the development of courses - in-house or external and constantly evaluate training programmes in partnership with the Learning & Development Team


Recruitment

  • Manage and proactively partner with client stakeholders and the centrally located Recruitment function to providing an outstanding and coordinated recruitment service.
  • Consult and advise line managers on job specifications/structures and potential candidates
  • Work within an agreed recruitment budget to attract and hire the best available talent
  • Actively promote the career development of employees through:
    • Advertising positions internally and ensuring appropriately qualified candidates are given consideration for promotional opportunities.
    • Ensuring managers actively encourage and support people in moving across the organisation


Compensation & Benefits

  • Work with line managers to communicate and advise pay and reward philosophy
  • Advise managers on remuneration and benefit issues ensuring equity and consistency across the client group and the wider business
  • Manage the merit planning process ensuring budget constraints are met and employees are rewarded at market level & in line with performance


Essential

  • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge and prior experience of business partnering with a demanding client group in a fast-paced matrix environment
  • Well-versed in current UK labour law, with the ability to apply this to varying situations and scenarios
  • CIPD qualified or equivalent
  • Proven ability to partner with a diverse client group across all levels up to and including senior and executive management
  • Proven experience in problem-solving and organizational management practices within a matrix organization
  • Proven ability to communicate concisely and deliver results
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Working knowledge of compensation and benefits practices
  • Demonstrate the capability to manage a complex and changing workload with the ability to meet changing and varying deadlines
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Good numerical skills with an attention to detail
  • Prior experience of using an HR information system, preferably SAP
  • Experience of working in a pan European environment

  • HR experience gained in a culturally and geographically dispersed organisation, especially with a US parent company. Some knowledge of employment legislation outside of the UK would be beneficial.
