Job description

Expanding Media Organisation seeks a Part Time Financial Controller to join their team, based in the West End. The Part Time Financial Controller will manage and improve the financial reporting and direct the accounting operations.

Duties of the Part Time Financial Controller include:

  • Managing accounting records
  • Evaluate and manage risk
  • Publish financial statements
  • Analyse financial data
  • Monitor expenditure
  • Monitoring and interpreting cash flows and predicting future trends
  • Forecasting and budgeting
  • Implement process and procedures
  • Formulating strategic and long-term business plans
  • Developing financial management mechanisms that minimise financial risk
  • Developing external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g., auditors, solicitors, bankers, and statutory organisations such as the Inland Revenue
  • Analysing competitors and market trends
  • Conducting reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
  • Producing accurate financial reports to specific deadlines
  • Arranging new sources of finance for a company's debt facilities
  • Keeping abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation.

Requirements for the Part Time Financial Controller include:

  • CIMA/ACCA qualified would be desirable
  • 3 years + experience in a similar role including management accounting
  • A background within Media/Creative would be beneficial
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience within regards to revenue recognition and WIP management is vital
  • A bubbly, fun personality which will fit in with the rest of the team culture is important
  • Be able to organise and manage time efficiently and effectively
