Job description

KennedyPearce is now recruiting a Payroller on behalf of a Nationally recognized FMCG company.

This role is to work in a team of payroll administrators, delivering accurate and timely payrolls for all employees, on a weekly and monthly timetable. You will be working as part of the personnel team, in a fast-moving, dynamic and challenging environment, with both internal and external customers.


The person:

  • Strong commitment and motivation, with a respect for deadlines, ownership of tasks and working as a team
  • Ability to adopt and follow standard processes, as well as challenge ways of working with suggestions for improved efficiency and customer service
  • Payroll background with knowledge of payroll legislation and ideally studying towards CIPP qualification
  • Confident communicator, able to liaise at all levels across the business and contribute in meetings
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, with the flexibility to deal with change and different priorities
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and to tight deadlines



Qualifications and experience:

  • Payroll knowledge through previous experience is required
  • Good payroll system skills; knowledge of Northgate Resourcelink Aurora would be an advantage (although not essential)
  • Will require Excel skills to include VLOOKUP and pivot tables, along with general knowledge of Word and other Microsoft products
  • Retail experience preferable



Key responsibilities:

  • Ownership of processing payroll for c.30,000 weekly and c.4,500 monthly staff accurately and to tight deadlines, including sickness, BACS, run costing and FPS
  • Reconciling third-party payments and pensions
  • Understanding of flex and auto-enrolment desirable
  • As part of the team, managing a shared inbox and instructions for processing
  • Supporting defining new processes, maintaining current procedures and process improvements
  • Dealing with queries and correspondence from internal and external customers
  • Ad hoc project work
