Job description

Procurement Manager

The role is to lead the Procurement function of a major property company. They are looking at centralising the Procurement Function and also implementing a new ERP and Procurement Manager will be responsible for this change.

Description

  • Develop and implement a centralised purchasing model that reduces the cost of purchasing
  • Ensure effective and efficient purchasing and procurement of goods and services across the organisation
  • Establish and maintain key supplier agreements, while seeking ways to improve efficiency's and ensure purchasing compliance
  • Continuously improve procurement processes including regular advice and auditory reporting to management
  • Establish, monitor and maintain effective contract, vendor, stock registers and databases to allow for information management
  • Develop strategies to integrate systems improvements for tendering evaluation, data recording and audit trails that meet organisational requirements

  • Provide accurate, comprehensive and timely reports to management

  • Work with suppliers to ensure that key processes are running efficiently and cost-effectively

  • Contract management and negotiation with suppliers

  • Manage and lead a team of Procurement Professionals

Profile

  • Previous experience as a procurement manager is essential
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other areas of organisation to achieve agreed outcomes
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Supervisory and ability to train and lead staff
  • Change management skills
  • Demonstrated experience in contract negotiation and dispute resolution
  • Extensive experience in procurement, tendering and contract management
