Job description

KennedyPearce are working with a leading media company based in the City who are currently seeking a Production accountant to join their Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is part qualified, has previous experience working within the media industry and who enjoys working in a creative environment.

As the production accountant your key duties are as follows:

  • Processing of all production invoices ensuring all are correctly authorised in line with signatory limits and correctly coded
  • Preparing payment runs
  • Reconciling supplier accounts
  • Responsible for managing company credit card account including issuing monthly statements and posting expenses
  • Posting nominal ledger journals
  • Collection of petty cash
  • Assisting with reconciling bank accounts, including foreign currencies
  • Assisting in the audit preparation
  • Assisting Senior Production Accountant with management of Cost Managers, including assisting with month end reconciliations
  • Assisting the production team and Senior Production Accountant with the short-term cash forecasting for productions
  • Liaising with Production Managers in order to close down completed productions alongside the Senior Production Accountant
  • Assisting and reviewing monthly recovery of overhead costs
  • Ad hoc duties when required

Experience Needed:

  • Educated to degree level (2:1 and above)
  • Previous experience of working within a media environment is essential
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Knowledge of HRMC rules regarding freelance television workers is desirable
  • Ability to handle a high workload whilst delivering work to tight deadlines.

This role is looking to pay up to £35,000
