Job description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a commercially driven and analytical Project Accountant to join my clients ever growing team. Reporting to the Area Finance Director, you will support the financial management of the business units projects, which will include project set up, invoicing and end of month billing, appropriate revenue recognition and day to day support of the Area's accounting requirements.


Specifically, your duties will include -

  • Project finance management including project set up according to contractual terms and ongoing project maintenance
  • Providing assistance to Project Managers in relation to project billing, debtor management, generating accurate revenue recognition, WIP reporting and resolving project issues
  • Support teams in hypercare post implementation and ensure they move to efficient, standardised monthly reporting processes
  • Support all projects as required to deliver monthly close across controllership and FP&A
  • Working collaboratively with the Corporate Finance team regarding month end activities
  • Undertaking monthly project reviews to identify and highlight any anomalies
  • Completion of relevant project Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Provision of assistance to the budgeting and forecasting process
  • Building meaningful relationships with Consultants/Senior Consultant, Project Managers, and the wider Asia Pacific Finance team


To be successful you will display -

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting and/or Commerce coupled with ACA/ACCA qualifications or be a finalist
  • Demonstrated two to three years' experience in a similar Project Accounting environment
  • Relevant industry experience in the Media industry is advantageous as is any experience working on international projects
  • An ability to take ownership and financial management of complex programs
  • Strong analytical ability with an emphasis on providing insight and recommendations using financial information
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with both financial and non-financial audiences
  • A resilient attitude that is adept to competing priorities and working within an environment of change
  • Project experience - process change, ideally across multiple sites
  • Able to understand complex financial processes and end to end impact
  • Strong process improvement background
  • Proactive, logical self-starter
