Job description

This highly successful group in the tourism industry have grown significantly over the last 5 years and are now a sophisticated medium sized business. Their head offices are based in Central London.

A position has now become available for a commercially minded Qualified Management Accountant. Reporting to the Financial Controller, your responsibilities will include -

  • Prepare monthly reports for senior management and cost centre managers
  • Provide commentary and recommendations on monthly results for cost centre managers
  • Analysis of budgets, variances, capital works, KPI's
  • Oversee job costing system and associated analysis
  • Manage month end processes
  • Fixed asset register management
  • Assist with budget preparation and planning
  • Assist with year end

The successful candidate will be a commercially minded qualified Accountant with experience in a medium/large company. You will enjoy working in a fast paced environment where systems and processes are continually improved as the company grows. Great communication skills (both written and verbal) are critical as you will be liaising with many different people within the business. Experience & Requirements
To be considered for the role you must have:

  • Previous practice experience and will be ACA/ACCA qualified at a minimum;
  • Experience and working knowledge of bookkeeping, management accounts, consolidations and finance processes;
  • Specific experience with the Companies Act requirements and UK GAAP/IFRS;
  • An enjoyment of working for different clients whilst understanding their individual needs;
  • Experience in managing multiple stakeholders;
  • Strong project management and multi-tasking skills;
  • Strong computer skills, with particular experience in Excel;
  • Experience with cloud accounting systems (mainly Xero and QuickBooks);
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills;
  • The ability to proactively question everything to improve quality and processes;
  • An approach that client satisfaction is vital; and
  • Drive and desire for progression
