Job description

Our Client seeks a Credit Control Manager to join the team on a permanent basis. This is a newly created role due to growth and reports into the Head of Finance. The Credit Control Manager must work collaboratively with other departments to support the strategic plans for growth and value creation.

Duties of the Credit Control Manager include:

  • Allocate workload between the Credit Controllers and ensure customers are followed up in an appropriate and timely manner, as per the Credit Control Policy.
  • Maximise the reporting suites in Power BI and Aspire, together with other resources, to optimise the activity and priorities of the Credit Controllers to minimise arrears and debtor balances.
  • Monitor the quality of interactions with customers, vendors and 3rd parties and provide constructive and developmental feedback to the Credit Controllers.
  • Train, coach and develop the Credit Controllers to become experts in their role and passionate about achieving the overall aim of the department and strategy of the business.
  • Anticipate and monitor the workload in Credit Control in relation to the resource available and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Continually assess the effectiveness of policies and processes; recommend and implement ongoing improvements.
  • Produce reports for senior stakeholders, either on a daily basis or as required, and demonstrate an in depth understanding of the credit control department and its contribution to the overall success of the business.
  • Provide monthly arrears reports for Board, including commentary on areas of risk or concern.
  • Manage the relationship and performance of external debt collection agencies, including litigation cases.
  • Support and assist in both internal and external audits, as required.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Finance team and other departments to ensure key deliverables are achieved and that these align with overall company objectives.


Requirements for the Credit Control Manager:

  • 3 years+ previous credit control experience in a business-to-business environment.
  • Line management of small teams.
  • Worked in a FCA regulated environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to read and interpret data to inform decision making.
  • Competent use of systems including Microsoft Office.
  • Conscientious and accurate, with good attention to detail, along with a 'can do' attitude.
  • Self-managed, well organised, and able to prioritise and manage a varied workload in a dynamic organisation.
  • Strong time management skills for self and others.
  • Good team player with ability to engage at all levels.
