Typical responsibilities for Product Controllers include:
Producing daily Profit & Loss (P&L) reports and variance analysis for trading desks
Performing balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring accuracy of trading positions
Validating and investigating pricing, valuations, and trade booking issues
Collaborating with traders, risk managers, and finance teams to resolve discrepancies
Supporting month-end and year-end close processes, including regulatory reporting
Ensuring compliance with accounting standards such as IFRS and US GAAP
Implementing process improvements and controls within the product control function
Using systems such as Calypso, Murex, Bloomberg, Excel, and proprietary trading platforms
