An investment trust/professional services firm are looking for an assistant accountant to join their team in the City of London. This hybrid role is an exciting new prospect, where the successful candidate would be providing accounting services to SPVs, making this very niche role an incredibly unique opportunity.

Globally known for their strong investment performances, this firm are a leading provider of independent governance and transaction support services.

Assistant Accountant Responsibilities:

• Assist with on-boarding and day-to-day admin of structured finance vehicles.
• Act as point of contact for external entities.
• Prepare management accounts, monthly reports and annual financial statements under IFRS and UK GAAP.
• Manage external audit process for client entities in London.
• File iXBRL tagged financial statements, VAT and corporation tax returns.
• Prepare ad-hoc reports and regulatory filings as needed.
• Review transaction documentation and liaise with external parties.

Assistant Accountant Profile:

• Graduate or part-qualified Accountant working towards ACA, ACCA, AAT or similar qualification.
• 6 - 24 months experience working in practice.
• Experience in structured finance markets (e.g. securitisation) preferred but not required.
• Curiosity and willingness to learn intricacies of structured finance markets.
• Experience in preparing financial statements and management accounts is advantageous.
• Strong IT skills required, including advanced Excel and MS Office systems.
• Able to work well in small teams and willing to assist others.
• Detail-oriented and diligent.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills, with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

The successful candidate will be paid up to £35,000 alongside generous perks and benefits including a bonus, healthcare, pension plans and more.
