Job description

Our Client, an international trust management business based in the City of London, is looking for a Depositary Manager to join their HQ in London.

The Depositary Manager will be responsible for overseeing the administration of a portfolio of Depositary clients who are primarily private equity, real estate, infrastructure and debt funds.

Key responsibilities will include:

Client Management

  • Work with the team to ensure a consistent, high-level of client service delivery across client portfolios ensuring all client deliverables are subject to satisfactory quality review
  • Manage and develop client relationships
  • Ensure client files are correctly maintained, all correspondence and documentation is accurately and regularly filed

People Management

  • Act as line manager, ensuring that team supervised, directed and engaged in day-to-day work
  • Support the team with process and other relevant training and career development considerations
  • Support the team with technical considerations that may require an additional level of judgement

Operational Development

  • Work with the team to ensure the internal control framework is consistently delivered across the depositary services business
  • Where required, represent the depositary business at internal operational working groups
  • Assist with continuous development of the operating framework for depositary services risk management
  • Act as a trusted sounding board for internal and external considerations concerning new business risk assessments, financial decisions and formal client communications
  • Regular review and update of ISAE 3402 framework and ensure successful certification
  • Consider at all times the AML and KYC issues and report any concerns to the appropriate officer

Financial Performance Management

  • Contribute to the UK Head of Funds Services annual budget & forecast setting process
  • Work with the depositary services team to coordinate team time recording and client portfolio allocation
  • Liaise effectively with the internal finance team on billing, draft invoice reviews and aged debt collection
  • Review aged debt and other financial information as required by the internal Finance team

Business Development

  • Assist in building the depositary service offering acting as the first point of contact for proposal-drafting, fee estimations and resource considerations
  • Work with the business development team to facilitate effective response to opportunities
  • Support the Head of Fund Services in the ongoing assessment and development of the UK service line literature

Skills/Experience

  • Experience working in an FCA-regulated environment
  • Solid working knowledge of AIFMD requirements with experience working in a Depositary/Fund Administration environment, preferably with Private Equity/Real Estate/Infrastructure/Debt funds
  • Team management experience
