Job description

KennedyPearce are hiring a Finance Manager for a consulting business based in London. This person will lead the statutory, compliance, and financial control framework for the UK business. This pivotal role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and insight of all financial reporting, while driving continuous improvement and efficiency across finance operations. You will manage a team of 3 and the ideal candidate will be ACA qualified.

The successful candidate will be a technically strong, hands-on qualified accountant who can balance precision in reporting with commercial awareness, process improvement, and team leadership. This is both a technical and developmental role, with potential to expand the role across at least one more European country.

This is a full-time permanent role reporting to the Head of Finance.

Finance Manager responsibilities:

Statutory, Compliance & Governance

  • Manage the full UK statutory audit process, acting as the principal liaison between our auditors (PWC), Group Finance, and UK Finance teams.
  • Prepare and review statutory accounts under FRS 102, including lease accounting in compliance with UK GAAP
  • Support the UK Tax Manager on tax compliance matters,
  • Maintain and update process documentation and control notes, ensuring all processes are clearly defined, followed, and regularly improved.
  • Drive process enhancement through automation, AI integration, and technology-led efficiency gains.
  • Maintain a robust internal control environment

Month-End, Consolidation & Reporting

  • Manage all aspects of the UK month-end close, ensuring timely and accurate results in accordance with Group deadlines.
  • Oversee the consolidation of UK entities, ensuring intercompany transactions and eliminations are handled accurately.
  • Review and challenge monthly results, providing clear commentary, variance analysis, and an executive summary for senior management.
  • Fixed Assets & Office Redevelopment
  • Oversee the UK fixed asset register, ensuring all additions, disposals, and transfers are accurately recorded.
  • Ensure appropriate depreciation, impairment reviews, and capitalisation policies are consistently applied.
  • Collaborate with Group Finance and Facilities on budgets and forecasting.

Internal Controls & Risk

  • Maintain and enhance the UK's internal control framework, ensuring compliance with Group policies and audit requirements.
  • Perform periodic testing of key controls, document outcomes, and implement recommendations.
  • Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks through proactive monitoring and process refinement.
  • Support internal and external audit teams by providing timely and comprehensive information.

Treasury & FX

  • Monitor weekly and monthly UK cash balances, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational and intercompany obligations.
  • Support group-level cash forecasting and funding requests, providing insight into UK-specific variances and trends.

Projects, Systems & Process Improvement

  • Lead or contribute to finance transformation and automation projects, including:
  • AI-driven financial reporting and data validation tools.
  • Participate in cross-functional and pan-European initiatives as part of the wider finance integration and modernisation programme.
  • Partner with the Head of Finance and leadership team to deliver clear, relevant financial insights on performance, risks, and opportunities.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior members of the finance team, supporting their technical growth and career development.
  • Encourage best practice, knowledge sharing, and alignment across the wider European finance function.

What We're Looking For:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA).
  • Minimum 3+ years post-qualification experience, ideally within a multi-entity or multinational environment.
  • Excellent people management skills and demonstrated experience mentoring or supervising staff
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including FRS 102
