Our client is a new FinTech start-up disrupting the Wealth Management space. As part of a larger group of companies they are very well backed and are looking for new members of the team to go on this exciting journey with them. They are currently seeking a qualified accountant to take the reins in a rapidly growing business. This role will excite those who aspire to take a senior position within a fast growing business, where they will be required to get involved in all areas of business strategy and have complete creative control over how they build out the Finance function in the years to come.

Initially this role is on a part-time basis but will quickly evolve into a full time position as our business looks to double in size this year.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic planning with senior management team
  • Statutory reporting (IFRS and UK GAAP)
  • Budgeting & forecasting
  • Monthly account reconciliation
  • Payments processing
  • Excel proficiency
  • Responsible for finance policies & procedures
  • Financial analysis and modelling
  • Responsible for finance contracts and negotiating terms
  • FCA reporting/Gabriel/Capital Adequacy
  • Payroll/P11d
  • Responsible lead on all company audits and tax matters (liaising with EY and Deloitte)
  • Risk assessments

Required

  • Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA
  • Excellent communication skills and able to challenge and influence decision-making
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Knowledge of VAT/Corporation Tax
  • Accountability and ownership for own deliverables
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to create and execute business process improvements and drive automation

Desirable

  • Experience in a scale-up business (0-100 employees)
  • Experience using Xero
  • Experience working within a group structure (processing recharges etc.)
  • Experience working in a FinTech business
  • Experience automating finance processes
