Accounts Payable Clerk

A leading UK property company located in London is seeking a moderately experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join the business on a permanent basis. The firm has grown to a point where a dedicated Accounts Payable Clerk is now required who will be responsible for processing all invoices received for payment as well as undertaking the payment of all creditors in a timely manner. It is paramount that the role is given the attention it requires and has the potential to expand in the future.

Job Duties:

  • Ownership of accounts payable function and email account
  • Liaising with heads of departments to obtain invoice approvals and checking purchase orders
  • Processing invoices and expenses in a timely fashion
  • Obtaining statements from suppliers and checking to the ledger
  • Set up of new suppliers, including checks on bank details
  • Liaising with suppliers regarding queries and payment dates
  • Generation of outstanding invoice report with commentary
  • Analysis and commentary for outstanding purchase orders report
  • Generation of BACS files to be loaded to HSBC.net for payment runs
  • Maintenance of all filing - electronic and physical
  • Audit queries related to accounts payable
  • Support with VAT and CIS queries
  • Support with bank reconciliations

Job Requirements:

  • Good with Microsoft Excel
  • Good with accountancy software packages (preferably Microsoft Dynamics)
  • An eye for detail
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently

  • Ability to determine better processes to increase efficiency
