Job description

My client have exclusively tasked Kennedy Pearce to search for a motivated Accounting Assistant who is an excellent multitasker with exceptional communication and time management skills.

You will be expected to assist the Finance Team with the following;

  • Data entry
  • Processing
  • Accurately recording transactions
  • Updating the ledger
  • Attaching electronic documents to accounting records
  • Assisting the Finance Team with the preparation of budgets and ad hoc reports.

You should understand basic Accounting principles and be proficient with computers and software, such as MS Excel and Xero (or similar accounting software) and willing to continually embrace technological change in your role to ensure efficiency.

Responsibilities

Providing electronic accounting documentation processing to support to the Finance Team. You will also deal with requests for financial information from other business managers within the Group.

You will process transactions, assist with setting up electronic payments, complete regular bank reconciliations, and updating the accounting system with transactions such as bank remittances, invoices and expense claims on a daily basis.

You will also prepare regular updates on debtor balances and help manage these balances, with assistance of divisional managers. This will include assisting the chasing for payment of aged debtors and ensuring timely creditor payments.

You will assist the Finance Team with the preparation of budgets and produce regular cash flow management reporting for the Finance team and Senior Divisional Managers.

From time to time you will assist the Finance team with ad hoc reporting requests and accounting process improvement projects.

Requirements:

You will have attained your ATT qualification, or be at the early to intermediate stages of studying towards your CIMA or ACCA qualifications. I will also consider experienced bookkeepers for the position.

You will be a proficient Microsoft Office user and be able to demonstrate intermediate Excel skills. You will also be able to use modern SME bookkeeping software like Xero or QuickBooks and be able to demonstrate your ability in organising and accurately processing electronic accounting records.

Other skills required
