Kennedypearce are working alongside a financial services firm based in the City who are looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join their team paying between £35-40K. Please note, this is a hybrid role.

Purpose of the role

• Handle day to day financial operations of the Company, including payments and Accounting entries
• Assist in Regular FCA reporting returns
• Maintain rigorous control over expenses, daily payments and procurement activities
• Assist in Daily and monthly reporting of financial management information (P&Ls, capital and liquidity report etc.)
• Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of internal and external auditors and regulators
• Assist in annual audit with external auditors and internal auditors

Main duties of the role

• Develop financial data and reports for business management in the form
• Ongoing management of the Company's financial resources requirement and liquidity position
• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and annual accounts in accordance with statutory requirements and accounting standards
• Create accounting entries for operating expenses and capital expenditure
• Assistance in the preparation of the Company budgets and monitor and assess progress towards their achievement
• Co-ordinate the external audit function of books and records, and statutory and regulatory financial statements.
• Other ad hoc report or finance project

A candidate with FCA returns is desirable

Requirements

• Degree holder preferred
• 2-3 years accounting experience preferred
• Working experience in the financial services sector is a plus
• Basic excel skills and understanding of accounting software
• A basic understanding of accounting standards
• Effective interpersonal and presentation skills
• Good team player
