Title: Client Accountant

Reporting to: Financial Controller

Location: Central London

Type: Permanent

The Client Accountant will be responsible to be the internal and external property accounting point of contact for a mixed use portfolio, ensuring all rent, turnover rent, commercialisation income, direct recoverable and service charge accounts are correct and up to date.

Our client is a SME Real Estate business, that has been solely focused on residential property either through investing or developing, giving them unparalleled experience that sets them apart from other companies. They are looking for a hardworking individual who has a great attitude to work to join their team in the West End.

Responsibilitites

  • Produce and close monthly client statements and monthly VAT reports within two working days of month end in accordance with procedures
  • Reconcile PPMS and GL balances
  • Reconcile client bank accounts in accordance with deadlines and procedures
  • Review purchase orders raised on a regular basis to ensure the service charge trackers are up to date and correct at all times
  • Attend service charge accounting meetings with building teams to review accounts and assist with any queries
  • Prepare quarterly service charge report and six or nine month service charge outturn forecast
  • Ensure correct quarterly Rent, Turnover Rent and Service charge billing
  • Maintain set up funds
  • Ensure correct VAT returns and payments to HMRC
  • Assist in statutory accounts preparation
  • Produce the year end accounts and issue the service charge packs within four months of the service charge year end
  • Complete any adhocs tasks requested by your line manager or clients

Requirements

  • Part qualified ACCA/CIMA
  • Degree level educated
  • 2 years experience in accounting
  • Property accounting knowledge - essential
  • Proven customer focus skills; ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Strong Excel and Word skills
  • Self starter; highly motivated
  • Team player
