Job description

KennedyPearce are hiring a Commercial Finance Business Partner/ Finance Analyst on an interim basis. This role will act as a key finance partner to the business, supporting P&L management, performance analysis, and commercial decision-making. This is a 3 month, hands-on role and we are seeking a candidate with Power BI and large datasets experience.

Key responsibilities

Business Partnering & Commercial Support

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with budget holders and senior stakeholders
  • Provide independent, professional financial advice to support effective decision-making
  • Ensure leaders understand, own, and are accountable for their financial performance
  • Apply investment appraisal techniques to business cases and go-to-market initiatives
  • Act as a partner and challenger when evaluating business plans and proposals
  • Support understanding and optimisation of non-financial KPIs
  • Act as a subject matter expert on commercial tools, driving adoption and improved profitability

Reporting & Performance Insight

  • Act as the interface between the business and FP&A, translating financial results into actionable insights
  • Support the production of meaningful monthly management accounts, ensuring variances are clearly explained and actions identified
  • Collaborate with peers to align and standardise best-in-class reporting
  • Support monthly Group reporting submissions, including flash results, performance insights, and presentations
  • Continuously improve reporting packs as group priorities and structures evolve

Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Support forecasting and budgeting processes, challenging assumptions and highlighting risks and opportunities
  • Ensure senior stakeholders are fully briefed and accountable for their numbers
  • Provide longer-term and strategic planning support
  • Analyse pipeline data to identify risks and opportunities against targets and forecasts
  • Work with FP&A to enhance self-service forecasting, budgeting, and reporting tools

Candidate profile

  • Strong background in FP&A, reporting, and commercial analysis
  • Experience working with complex data sets in a global environment
  • Advanced Excel skills (including automation/macros)
  • Experience with Power BI
  • Exposure to Dynamics 365
