Job description

We are working in partnership with a highly acquisitive and rapidly growing global software business based in Hammersmith (W6) who are on the search for a Part-Qualified Financial Accountant on a full time, permanent basis. To be considered for this role, you must be available to start within the next 2-3 weeks. On offer is a salary up to £55,000 per annum plus a discretionary bonus, study support and a strong benefits package.

You will support the Financial Controller in delivering accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls, and insightful financial analysis across designated legal entities. The role supports month end close and statutory reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and contributing to the integrity and reliability of financial information. This role is suited to a to a part-qualified accountant who is actively progressing toward a professional qualification, offering exposure across internal and external financial accounting, FP&A, audit, tax, and multi-entity financial reporting.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the FC with month end, half-year and year-end close activities across assigned entities.
  • Prepare and post journals including accruals, prepayments, payroll, intercompany and other adjustments.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy to support reporting and analysis.
  • Prepare analytical reviews of P&L and balance sheet movements with clear and insightful commentary.
  • Operate within established internal control frameworks, ensuring adherence to control requirements and escalating deficiencies as appropriate.
  • Support accounts payable queries and contribute to end-to-end ledger accuracy.
  • Preparation of statutory financial statements under IFRS.
  • Support the external audit processes, including preparation of audit schedules, responses to audit queries and stakeholder communication.
  • Preparation of cashflow forecasts for assigned entities, monitor actual performance against forecast, and perform variance analysis to identify key drivers of cash movements.
  • Support annual budgeting and monthly forecasting process with insightful commentary that clearly articulates key drivers, trends, and risks.
  • Prepare VAT returns, monthly filing and supporting reconciliations.
  • Support the preparation of standard monthly corporate income tax provision and quarterly advance payments computation.
  • Recommend and support system and process improvements as well as automation initiatives.

The ideal candidate:

  • As a minimum you are actively studying towards a formal finance qualification (ACA, ACCA, CA or equivalent)
  • 3-5 years' experience in a similar role
  • Previous IFRS exposure
  • Advanced Excel skills
