Job description

Our client, an International Bank based in the City are looking to recruit a Compliance & AML Officer. The incumbent will support the Assistant Compliance Manager in the Compliance Regulatory Compliance team with the important task of helping the Bank ensure that it complies with its regulatory obligations.

Main responsibilities of the Compliance & AML Officer will include;

  • Review and approval of new communications and financial promotions
  • Undertaking passport checks and searches of new staff
  • Review of the complaints and info@ inboxes and making an appropriate response to any enquiries
  • Tracking of FCA, PRA and CBN regulatory updates
  • Daily 2nd line check of CASS Reconciliations
  • Assisting the Head of Compliance with the Preparation of the Weekly Regulatory Update
  • Assisting the Head of Compliance with the Weekly Compliance Update to Exco
  • Undertaking a weekly review of Risk Events to scan for potential complaints, FCA and PRA Final Notices, CASS Resolution Pack to ensure it remains up to date
  • Coordinate and submit the monthly CBN reports
  • Complete the Monthly KRI data for the Compliance Department
  • Maintain up to date records of close links and controllers
  • Undertaking a quarterly review of investment documentation obtained from our clients
  • Undertaking a quarterly review of client MiFID categorisations
  • Undertaking a quarterly review of investment trades for suspicious transactions
  • Assisting the Head of Compliance with the preparation of the Quarterly Board Regulatory Update
  • Assisting the Head of Compliance with the ACC Update on changes to policies and procedures
  • Undertaking a quarterly review of staff routinely in contact with the regulators
  • Preparing and submitting the REP001, REP002, REP005 & REP010 reports to the FCA
  • Working with the Head of Compliance to complete the annual Compliance and CASS Risk Assessments

To be considered for the Compliance & AML Officer position, ideal candidates must have the following experience and skills;

  • Relevant qualification - Compliance/AML qualification or LLB preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant industry experience - at least 3 years preferred
  • Good knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework and the regulatory environment
  • Good knowledge of financial services products
  • Sound generalist compliance knowledge
