Job title: Finance Assistant

Reporting to: Management Accountant

Location: Hybrid working- 3 days in Liverpool Street office

Study support is available

The Finance Assistant will be responsible for ensuring that assigned tasks and responsibilities are undertaken to a high standard in order to support the smooth running of the London Finance team. Working in a small team, the Finance Assistant will be responsible for invoicing both fees and expenses, accounts payable and maintaining the SAP Finance system. They will also assist with the control and maintenance of Work in Progress (WIP) account.

The Finance Assistant will have had previous experience of supporting a Finance team, with particular experience in billings/invoicing and will have used a finance system (ideally SAP). They will have good IT and numeracy skills as well as being proactive, a confident communicator and able to work well as part of the team to take full ownership of responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Including but not limited to:

  • Set-up of new clients in SAP
  • Set-up jobs in SAP and review jobs on regular basis
  • Draft invoices and gain authorisation from Client Service Team
  • Create invoices and send out to Client on a timely basis
  • Maintain records and back-up for expense billing.
  • Maintain all documentation for revenue
  • Ensure no WIP items are outstanding over a period of 60 days
  • Assist in the production of weekly aged WIP reports
  • SAP user maintenance
  • Review freelancer timesheets and update accordingly
  • Accounts payable - raise POs as required; review PO reports on a regular basis; support AP queries from the business
  • Support finance team on tasks and ad hoc analysis as required

Skills, Qualification and Experience

  • Good GCSEs/A-levels
  • Looking to study for an accountancy qualification (AAT/CIMA/ACCA)
  • Communication skills (written and oral)
  • Strong organisation and time management skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
