Job description

  • Finance Business Partner: 10 month Contract
  • PAYE: £550 + Holiday or £730 Umbrella

The role:

You will design and set-up the finance business partnering support underpinning the finance team across this business and their functions: organisation, developing new ways of working and building close relationships with the Finance and leaders to deliver world-class finance strategies, solutions and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted business advisor to the leadership, acting as the single point of contact with regard to business partnering the finance leadership team.
  • Review and analyse monthly finance results, reporting these to the HQ business partner, articulating and managing variances to budget, forecast and previous years
  • Own the budgeting and forecast cycle, setting objectives, and providing guidance to the Finance Leadership on the preparation of financial planning, annual plan and forecasting
  • Support Finance leadership in developing strategies and long-range planning to deliver organisational objectives and efficiencies e.g. driving continuous improvements in cost and efficiencies and looking to simplify recharging processes
  • Leverages external market insight, understanding of financial and non-financial drivers as well as relevant tools and models to enhance the Business Partnering function
  • Create and develop business cases to drive business cases/ investment decisions, using understanding of cost drivers and the application of evaluation tools and methodologies
  • Working with the M&A and Finance Integration teams on the impact of M&A on the finance function
  • Accountable for risk management and the application of controls to the business, in line with the Group Controls policy
  • Drives the proactive identification and tracking of Balance Sheet risks and opportunities, ensuring key mitigation steps are implemented
  • Responsible for the proactive management of cashflow
  • Challenges themselves and the wider Finance function to improve the capabilities of Finance through the identification of efficiencies and new ways of work

Role Requirements

  • Member of a professional accounting body (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ACA, OROC, OCC or equivalent) ]
  • Demonstrated experience and success in a finance leadership role in a business of a comparable size and complexity
  • Demonstrated ability to apply finance knowledge to resolve complex business challenges, including the ability to distil and convey finance information to non-finance business leads
  • Strong service ethos and skills supported by hands on customer service delivery experience
  • Confident communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and management
  • Ability to push back and lead difficult conversations with integrity and humility
