About the role

We are currently seeking a Director of Finance to lead a team in providing advice and analysis to key stakeholders, partnering with them to influence decision making based on sound financial management principles, and understanding the story behind the numbers.

This will involve a high level of initiative, displaying sound judgement and being proactive to identify improvements and ensure outcomes are achieved. It also involves the capability to lead the management accounting and reporting team, and also key stakeholders within the business, with strong expertise in forecasting and budget development, to provide advice on technical accounting items including the interlinkages, within the context of a fairly new UK Entity.

You will provide strategic oversight and delivery of the business partnering and financial reporting functions, including appropriate rigour and assurance arrangements

Skills and experience

To be successful, you will have excellent communication skills and strong stakeholder engagement experience in management accounting, budget development and team management. Your capability to lead change, analyse complex and potentially contentious issues, provide strategic advice at the executive level and work under pressure is vital. You are known for having excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy building relationships with stakeholders and working with others to achieve goals.

Significant and demonstrated experience in a similar position, including experience in contemporary management information practices such as dashboards, along with a ACA,CA, ACCA qualification is required. Demonstrated experience and understanding of government financial frameworks and legislation will be an advantage.
