Job description

  • Calling all real estate professions
  • REIT/ General Ledger accountant
  • 6 month temp to perm role
  • Hybrid working although currently fully remote

THE ROLE

  • Responsible to perform the accounting, controlling and reporting for applicable 10-15 Holdco entities in accordance with Group accounting policies and procedures as well as any external reporting obligations
  • Accurate accounting for all transactions based on agreements, invoices, bank statements, tax assessments
  • Management reporting, recharge processes and cost control (including budget and forecasting cycles) for all entities in scope
  • Take full ownership for monthly, quarterly and annual close process for these corporate entities in compliance with both Local GAAP as well as Group GAAP (IFRS)
  • Prepare statutory financial statements in compliance with Local GAAP and report under Group GAAP for consolidation purposes
  • Comply with all local reporting requirements (i.e. VAT submissions; Central Bank reporting; Office of statistics)
  • Work with the Group Finance and Group Tax teams to produce consolidated financial statements to be used to meet the conditions and tests set out by HMRC for REIT reporting
  • Produce annual REIT compliant financial statements
  • Submit/file REIT statements in a timely manner
  • Working with the Group Tax team, perform regular tests to ensure full compliance per REIT regulations
  • Managing the information flow of all upper structure entities
  • Become familiar with the group structure and intercompany relationships between entities
  • Work with Group Auditors and have responsibility for applicable legal entity audit reviews.

What you'll bring

  • You'll be a fully qualified ACA/ACCA professional with at least 3-5 years PQE
  • You strong accountancy skills, preferably with experience working across large multi-jurisdictional structures
  • Ideally with previous real estate experience with an understanding of what a property rental business means and how it works
  • Understanding and or experience of what working for a UK REIT means.
