UK HEAD OF TAX

The UK Tax function is the primary source of Tax advice for my client in the UK.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

· Manage the UK Tax position and risks of the Group

· Proactively advising and assisting all UK business lines in all tax related matters

· Ensuring that the UK operates within the Group's tax risk appetite and that a transparent

· Ensuring compliance with all UK filing obligations across all direct and indirect taxes.

· Building and maintaining strong relationships with Group Tax and UK business lines

WHO YOU ARE?

· Ideally on a short notice period

· Can undertake VAT compliance work in an efficient and timely manner, demonstrating good understanding of PESM principles and their practical application

· Advise on VAT treatment of a range of financial services and specific transactions, in relation to clearing and asset-based lending activities

· Advise on the impact of business changes on the agreed PESM

· Business partner and work effectively with both tax team members and with colleagues across the wider organisation

· Demonstrate high self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and as an effective team member

· Search for ways of improving existing business processes and to provide feedback and suggestions to both the tax team and the business

· Demonstrate good stakeholder management skills

QUALIFICATIONS

· ACA or CTA qualified tax professional with a minimum of 3-5 years PQE in financial services

· Good understanding of UK VAT and PESM principles

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Experience of running VAT compliance within a financial services organisation

· Experience of negotiating PESM is desirable

· A working, functional knowledge or banking systems and technology

· Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills

· Experience of managing a wide range of stakeholders
