Job description

A commercial bank based in the City of London are searching for an Internal Auditor to join their team in enhancing the bank's operations and achieving its objectives through systematic evaluation and improvement of risk management, control, and governance processes.

Internal Auditor Duties:

  • Conduct internal audits following the approved Audit Plan and risk-based methodology, providing independent risk assessments and control effectiveness evaluations.
  • Regularly update the Head of Internal Audit on Audit Plan status and resource adequacy.
  • Assist in monitoring and controlling Audit Plan progress.
  • Administer the Internal Audit Management System and provide support.
  • Collaborate with senior management and staff to establish a system for timely identification and management of significant risks.
  • Recommend improvements for identified weaknesses and oversee management's responses.
  • Prepare accurate periodic analyses of outstanding audit recommendations.
  • Review and propose enhancements to the audit methodology for process efficiency.
  • Assist in arranging and preparing for Audit Committee meetings.
  • Actively participate in departmental activities and tasks, regardless of direct assignment.
  • Support the Head of Internal Audit in other departmental activities as requested.
  • Stay updated on technical knowledge related to Bank activities and best internal audit practices.

Internal Auditor Profile:

  • Over 3 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Exceptional standard of technical knowledge for the role in both business areas and the audit field.
  • Incredible attention to detail with great organisational skills.
  • A disciplined and proactive approach to your audit work.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Being able to speak Mandarin would be very advantageous.
