Job description

Our client a global Asset Manager based in the West End are looking to recruit a Investment Operations Analyst to join their expanding their Derivatives Trading Operations Department. Investment Operations provides trading processing and account reconciliation services that support over $1 trillion of principal traded annually by our client. Analysts work closely with portfolio managers, analysts, and traders to deliver precise and scalable operational support.

Other responsibilities will include;

  • Daily communication with intern and external parties to coordinate account setup and maintenance of FX and other OTC/FCM accounts
  • Working with FCM counterparties to establish derivative clearing accounts for trading derivative instruments such as listed options, listed equity futures, and credit derivatives
  • Enforcing compliance of existing regulations (Dodd-Frank, EMIR, etc.) and assisting with implementation of new regulations
  • Management of fund/client documentation including tax forms, prospectuses, investment management agreements, settlement instructions, etc
  • Ensuring that account settlement instructions are maintained and distributed to our FX counterparties in an accurate and timely fashion
  • Operational setup of FX accounts in our FX Accounts Database and other various internal and 3rd party systems
  • Establishing credit to trade FX spot and forward transactions with counterparty banks
  • Overseeing the daily/weekly/monthly FX reporting requirements we have to portfolio managers, custodians and clients
  • Providing FX counterparties with quarterly review materials to maintain credit approval for FX accounts (supplying updated account AUM values and updating counterparty documentation)
  • Providing support to our Foreign Exchange group, assisting with ad-hoc requests and promptly troubleshooting issues with FX traders
  • Ongoing maintenance of derivative documentation.
  • Ensuring proper logging and storage of documents, as well as communication to stakeholders.
  • Maintaining documentation and innovate operational processes and procedures to reduce risk and increase efficiency in the daily trading process for Investment Division clients

The successful candidate will have extensive demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or business administration or equivalent
  • A working knowledge of derivatives products - futures, swaps, options, and foreign exchange
  • Analytical, detail-oriented and precise with numbers, with a solid understanding of the securities/fund industry as well as investment concepts and strategies
  • Previous experience of working in the processing and/or settlements environment of a financial institution (Asset Manager, Custodian, Broker etc.)
  • Strong individual contributor and team player in a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritize and complete multiple assignments under short deadlines
  • Familiarity with custodian, broker, and money manager operations
  • Ability to identify potential issues and promote efficient resolution; ability to set and pursue goals and demonstrate a commitment to organizational success
  • Willingness and flexibility to work non-standard schedules associated with providing trading support across global markets
  • Must have a thorough understanding of industry regulations/vendors in relation to FX and Derivatives.

  • Strong computer skills, including advanced proficiency with Excel and comfort with database applications.
