Job description
A well-established manufacturing business is seeking an experienced and proactive IT Manager to take full responsibility for its IT infrastructure, systems, and support. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys driving technological improvements that support operational efficiency.
Role Overview:
The IT Manager will oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of the organisation's IT systems and services. You'll work closely with senior management and operational teams to ensure all digital tools, hardware, and infrastructure align with business needs and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement IT strategies in line with business objectives
Lead and deliver software and infrastructure projects across departments
Maintain and upgrade networks, hardware, servers, and operating systems
Manage cybersecurity policies and ensure data protection best practices
Lead and support a small internal IT team
Monitor system performance and resolve technical issues promptly
Oversee IT budgets and ensure cost-effective technology investments
Provide internal technical support and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Maintain documentation and enforce IT policies and procedures
Candidate Profile:
Previous experience in an IT Manager or senior IT leadership role
Strong understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, and networking
Excellent project management and problem-solving skills
Confident team leader with effective communication abilities
Comfortable working under pressure and meeting strict deadlines
Sound knowledge of cybersecurity and risk management
Experience with server implementation, system administration, and software deployment
Degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA, or CISSP are advantageous
