ROLE: Management Accountant

SALARY: £30000 - £40000

Our client are looking for an energetic, commercially minded Management Accountant to join their team on in their close knit office in central London. The main purpose of the role is to prepare the monthly management accounts for reporting to both management and group. This would be a role suitable for someone who is studying for their accounting exams, such as CIMA or ACCA.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Calculation of accruals & prepayments of income, costs and inter-company, using IFRS principles.
• Prepare and post journals
• Prepare monthly Management Accounts reconciled to TB
• Monthly variance analysis (by comparing to budget/forecast) and exception reporting
• Monthly & quarterly balance sheet reconciliations
• Action any queries post month-end; i.e AP mis-posting etc.
• Assist with the SOX and year-end audit by providing all relevant information to the auditors
• Update & maintain fixed assets, post & reconcile fixed asset register
• Monthly analysis of aged debtor & creditor reports for monthly reporting
• Upload and publish internal, management & external TB's
• Prepare and submit quarterly packages
• Journals and reconcile net wage and PAYE control accounts
• Preparation, submission and payment of VAT return
• Prepare and submit the year-end packages
• Raising all internal PO's and send invoices to provider
• Setting up new suppliers
• Setting up weekly and one off payment runs
• Booking intercompany invoices and accruals for group suppliers and group clients
• Liaising with intercompany team to manage mismatches and reconcile monthly
• Continuously reviewing current processes and making improvements to allow better control or improved efficiency's

REQUIREMENTS

• Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent
• 2-5 years accounting experience
• A background working for an SME preferred but not essential
• A background working within the creative industry preferred but not essential
• Strong Excel skills
